International Monetary Fund IMF has got acquainted on the Sudan’s economic performance 2016 and plans for 2017. Minister of finance and economic planning, Badr al-Deen Mahmud who received the delegation of IMF at his office in Khartoum vowed Sudan’s strive to sustain good economic relations with regional and international funding institutions. He urged IMF to provide required assistance for Sudan to get rid of its external debts and further have the U.S sanctions lifted by the coming July.
Mahmud reviewed his ministry’s efforts to increase revenues and the measures to control expenditure on governmental bodies besides computerizing the financial systems.
On his part, the head of IMF visiting delegation, Erich Moto vowed IMF’s logistic support to Sudan so as to have the external debts removed. He hailed Sudan’s vision to handle economic problems and its endeavor to build durable relations with the international community.
