Government of South-Darfur state initiated to implement planning of “Alserif” displacement camp, 6 Km south Niyala, capital of the state and turn it into a “city of Alserif” as part of a government plan to dismantle displacement camps in the state.
Moreover, Sudanese government seeks to dump displacement camps in Darfur region of some 2.7 million displaced people through planning displacement camps to become part of cities or return the displaced people to their villages of origin voluntarily.
Governor of South-Darfur, Adam Alfaky addressed displaced people in camp of “Alserif” in the importance of opening roads inside the camp to facilitate task of planning camp into housing plots for displaced people who want to stay in the camp.
The governor added, the camp of “Alserif” will turn into “Alserif” city.
He pointed out, to ownership of all displaced people who wish to stay in residential units and then have the option to stay or return to their villages after receiving their housing entitlement, calling displaced people to cooperate with Ministry of Urban Planning in order to conduct planning operations.
Alfaky affirmed the state became safe and stable after collection of weapons from the tribes enabling displaced people to return to their places of origin and practice their basic occupations in agriculture.
