The Government of Kassala State has signed a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Minerals represented by the Public Geological Research Corporation and the Turkish Fadila Company for Minerals on investment in the state’s marble ore.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Hashem Ali Salem, Minister of Minerals, Wali Kassala, Adam Adam, Chairman of the Energy and Mining Committee of the National Assembly and a number of officials at the level of the Federal Ministry and the State.
The Director General of Public Geological Research Corporation Mohamed Abufatameh signed on behalf of the ministry, the Chairman of Fadila Company Mohamed Amin Belail for his company and the Minister of Urban Planning and Public Utilities in Kassala State Engineer Mohamed Saeed Mahmoud on behalf of the state.
The signing of the agreement marked the beginning of the indigenization of the marble industry in Ksala, Professor Salim said, adding that 13 out of 40 minerals found in the country have been extracted, expressing appreciation for the Turkish company’s cooperation in the manufacture of marble, which represents a breakthrough for new cooperation and investment in precious stones.
