Khartoum , April 14 (Kem)—Leaders of the Sudanese opposition Saturday met with head of the Transitional Military Council Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan and agreed to reconvene on Sunday with the aim of presenting a list of candidates to be included in the Transitional Council which will dispense the authority.
Leader of the opposition Sudanese Congress Party (SCP) , Omar Al- Dighair told protestors squatted before the army headquarters that meetings will continue until finalization of consultations to set up various institutions of the transitional stage.
“We demanded,” he told protestors,” civilian participation in the interim presidential council with the Transitional Military Council besides a civilian government” and announced that “on Sunday we will submit the (proposed government) list to head of the military council”.
Al-Dighair added that they await the military council chief to deliver his promise of setting free all Darfur youth and activists who had been extradited from countries abroad , topped by Mohamed Hassan Al-Booshi and Wad Ghalaba in addition to all detainees.
Another demand to head of the TMC , he professed , is the re-structuring of the regime’s Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) as well as accountability and just trial of all those involved in acts of corruption and blood-letting.
The opposition delegates also highlighted the need to restore various buildings used as premises for the defunct National Congress Party (NCP) to ownership of the Sudanese people, the SCP leader disclosed.
On his side , spokesman of “Sudan Call” opposition alliance Salah Jalal described the meeting between leaders of the ‘Freedom and Change Declaration’ forces and the military council as “positive in its entirety”, explaining that “ some issues require additional consultation while others had been resolved forthwith”.🔥4 Views
