Khartoum will host in the next days the meeting between Sudan and the United States of America in the first round of negotiations about lifting Sudan’s name from the US list of states sponsoring terrorism, said Sudan foreign ministry.
The Foreign Ministry affirmed that requisites of the US administration and the United States will be in accordance with the agreed road map.
The ministry added that Sudan managed to break through the barriers and convince the international community to change its view about Sudan through its active dauntless and relentless efforts to combat terrorism at the international, regional and national levels.
In the meantime, an American official revealed that the US will continue to work with Sudan government in order to lift its name permanently from states’ list of sponsors of terrorism based on the record of Khartoum government in this regard.
The New York Times newspaper has reported that the US discussed lifting of Sudan from the terrorism list in a move that signals a shift in relations between the two countries.
