Sudan’s Transitional Military Council TMC on Wednesday vowed not to allow dismantling of the National Intelligence and Security Services NISS as the apparatus has highly qualified patriotic cadres.
TMC’s Deputy Chairman Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemetti” highlighted role of NISS in achieving political change in country saying “they work in harmony for interests of Sudan’s national security”.
Addressing officers at NISS headquarters Hemetti said the military junta is very keen on principle of transparency adding “we want to build a state where law will rule supreme”
He reiterated that those who perpetrate crimes that jeopardize the country’s security will be punished.
For his part, member of the TMC and Chairman of security and defense committee Gen. Jamal Omer said the mounting threats in the region put a new burden on the NISS whose expertise is needed during the transition period.
The meeting was first addressed by NISS general director who extended greetings to all regular forces that safeguarded security and stability during the last period.
