Authorities in West Kordofan State have agreed to give the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) two locations to establish camps for refugees from South Sudan.

The Governor of West Kordofan State, Abulgasim Al Amin Baraka, said in a statement  that the camps will help accommodate the refugees and ease the pressure from limited services available to host communities. He also said that it will be easier to provide services to refugees in a central location.

The Sudanese government and aid agencies said thousands of South Sudanese refugees crossed the border into neighbouring Sudan.
